The structural integrity of many buildings is partially dependent on the use of cavity wall ties in the construction. These cavity wall ties help hold the inner and outer leaf of masonry in place. Over time these mild steel ties corrode and the original cavity wall ties need to be isolated or removed to prevent further damage to the cavity wall.
